Polina Carlettidou

Polina was born in Nicosia in 1996. From a very young age she became interested in the art of dance and movement and started taking rhythmic gymnastics lessons. However, her first encounter with dance, was at primary school where she participated in traditional performances. Later in years, she became interested in various other dances and started taking Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Latin and Reggaeton classes.

Despite her young age, she has already attended various dance seminars, performed in a number of TV shows and Salsa Congresses both in Cyprus and Slovenia and acquired many diplomas from the International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A).

In 2014, she became a member of our dance school and started teaching Latin American dances to children between 4 and 13 years old. She has also worked as an assistant teacher in adult Latin groups. She is also a member of our professional team as well as the belly dance competition team.

She graduated from the GC School of Careers and decided to continue her studies in the United Kingdom. She is now studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Surrey. At the same time, she decided that she wanted to expand her knowledge in Latin and Ballroom dance sport (Cha-cha, Jive, Samba, Rumba, Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Foxtrot etc.) She is now attending Latin and Ballroom classes in UK and she is a member of the University of Surrey Ballroom and Latin dance club team.

In 2015-2016, she and her partner, competed at the Bath Dance Competition (UK) gaining a 2nd place in Cha-Cha and Southern Universities Dance Competition (Wales-Cardiff), gaining a 1st place in Quickstep, 2nd place in Waltz and a 4th place in Cha-Cha. She has also started taking the exams of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D) so as to acquire diplomas in these kind of dances as well.
